Upcoming Lotus Motorcycle Rumored to Pack a 200 HP V-Twin Engine

January 13th, 2014

It's about half a year since Lotus announced they were working to have their first motorcycle ready, and that it was to be a hyper bike.

Voices in the industry close to Lotus claim that the C-01 is powered by a v-twin mill which produces around 170 hp in its stock trim, but which has been tuned to ring the bell at 200 horsepower in the Lotus version. The manufacturer of the engine was not disclosed yet, but we can just take a look around and gather the 170 hp-ish v-twin engines and them toss a coin, or so. Ducati, KTM, maybe?

The same sources add that two bikes have already munched several thousands of miles testing, one with a full carbon fiber fairing and one naked. The next month is said to bring more news from the creators of the Lotus C-01 themselves.
