In a little over a decade custom bike builder Rick Fairless has created an empire in Dallas, Texas. After working in the paint business for 20 years he decided to open up Strokers Dallas. There he sells Big Dog Motorcycles, Victory Motorcycles, Big Bear Choppers, Xtreme Motorcycles, completely Custom Built Bikes and more. They also sell parts, customize bikes, have a bike service department and Rick's own crazy apparel.
Since the opening of Strokers Dallas Fairless has opened a few other businesses as well. Not too long after Strokers Dallas was opened the doors of Strokers Ice House began letting people in. This is probably one of the most laid back bars you'll find in the South. Weekly events usually pull in about 1,000 to 2,000 bikes on Sundays making this one of the biggest hot spots in Texas. Recently he opened Strokers Ink, a highly skilled tattoo parlor on the outskirts of Dallas.
Between working 20 hours a day and 8 days a week running these great biker spots, Rick is known to build some pretty outrageous Custom Bikes. His most recent bike is "Bettie". "I designed the Bettie bike on a plane ride." He said, "I drew it up just kinda doodling and then I thought, hey, I can do that and it’ll be really cool. I wanted the back curved and I wanted the frame to contain the gas and the oil. It’s a look that I haven’t seen before and I really dig it. I call the bike “Bettie” because it’s curvy just like Bettie Page. I also offer the Bettie frames for sale."
