DESCRIPTION	Rosamond VFW Post to host May poker run. ROSAMOND -- Rosamond Veterans of Foreign War Post 9657 is gearing up for its 5th annual Support Our Veterans poker run on Saturday, May 2. The proceeds from the event will go to support veterans programs in the Antelope Valley area including aid, assistance, relief and comfort of needy or disabled veterans, members of armed forces family members, their children, widows and orphans of deceased veterans as well as hospitalized veterans. Cost is $25 for first poker hand and $10 for a second hand. Registration is from 9 to 11 a.m. at the post, 1900 Elrey St., east of the Antelope Valley Freeway on 20th Street West between Avenue A and Rosamond Boulevard. Riders will start at the post and draw one card at each stop in attempt to make the best five-card poker hand for cash prizes. First place is $250; second place is $100; $100 will be awarded to the worst hand. The post-poker run party will feature live music by Blonde Faith from 2-5 p.m. and Vagrant at 6 p.m. A deep-pit barbecue lunch will be available from 2-5 p.m. for $7. There will be raffle prizes drawings throughout the afternoon and a 50/50 drawing.
