Aerosmith Lead Man Steven Tyler Injured at Buffalo Chip

Steven Tyler of AerosmithSturgis S.D. Aug 6 Late Wed. evening Steven Tyler of Aerosmith was injured when he fell from stage catwalk at the famous Buffalo Chip Campground while performing to a record breaking crowd. Reports say while having a bit of a audio problem, Tyler was dancing around doing what he does best, entertaining the crowd, when he lost his balance and fell from a cat walk, into the crowd.

Tyler did get up after the fall, with help from security, and walk off with assistance, but after injury assessment back stage, a band member, Joe Perry, announced that Tyler would be taken to the hospital and they would not be able to continue the concert.

Tyler was airlifted by helicopter to Rapid City Regional Hospital around 12:15 A.M. Thursday.

Performing his huge hit, Love in an Elevator when the incident occurred, Tyler was reported in good spirits and joking with a physician during the helicopter transport.

What probably was the largest concert crowd ever at the Chip, was about half way thru when the incident occurred, according to Chip officials.

One concert attendee told the Monster, "their was some disappointment among attendees, about the concert ending early, but most of the bikers were more concerned with Tylers well being". The Monster source added, "the Chip was electrified".

Early reports say Tyler suffered minor head, neck, and shoulder injuries. Early today, the Rapid City hospital would neither confirm nor deny if Tyler was still there. Tyler is 61.

Stay tuned to the Monster for updates on Tylers condition.
